Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende
Professor Thomas Westermann studierte an der Universität Konstanz Mathematik und Physik mit Diplomabschluss 1985 in Mathematik. Schwerpunkte des Studiums waren Angewandte Mathematik. Er promovierte 1988 im Bereich der Computerphysik. Seit 1993 ist er Professor für Angewandte Mathematik und Computersimulation an der HS Karlsruhe. Für sein didaktisches Konzept mit MAPLE wurde der Autor mit dem G.A. Müller-Preis ausgezeichnet und erhielt den Lehrpreis des Landes Baden-Württemberg auch für seine didaktisch hervorragenden Lehrbücher.
